The Unbelievable Music Resume…that’s mine!

The Elements (a group I sing with) just finished applying for an artist residency at The Headlands Center for the Arts for 2016. As part of that process, I had to make a resume suitable for what we as a vocal improv & sound healing quintet are up to. So…not a corporate resume, not something from my One Mouth Band or Journeys In Rhythm press kits, but something new that shows the breadth & depth of my performance credibility, production skills, facilitation experience, sound healing qualifications, and then throw in a little corporate experience for good measure. I had never had such a comprehensive resume request, but said “sure, I can do that!”

liarOf course I did, then I started doing it… I had to drop stuff left and right just to make it fit on one page, front & back. And after finally pulling so many strands of my life together, I realized that I have a slight problem: this does not even look believable. What a great problem to have! I swear I did not see this coming, and that every word is true.

Y’know, sometimes in the middle of stressing about all the things that didn’t happen or getting lost in the chaos of all that is happening, I forget just how incredible and unbelievable my life really is. It’s good to just sit back and marvel at the wonder of it all with gratitude and humility. I’m not even 40 yet, and look at all this. I can’t even take credit for half of the following items, I can only give thanks for having been lucky enough to live them.
