The Elements have taken some time off pursue independent projects, but are reassembling in September to perform, teach, heal, & record!
We start by returning to The Rose Labyrinth in Berkeley next Friday from 7:30 to 9pm (doors open at 7pm). This was the site of our very first public performance, and we’re really excited to provide another immersive healing musical journey in this beautiful space. Here are the details from our Facebook event:
With presence, freedom, tenderness, & respect, together we will call forth music of the elements. Come to listen, come to sing, come to walk the ritual path with an organic human soundtrack to aid your heart’s dreaming.
It is a night for healing to be sure. So we are on it. Come and join, celebrate, mourn with us. Dream into the dreams we have for the world in its healing, dream and sing into the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.
Tickets are $12/chair or $20/couch in advance, or $15/chair or $25/couch at the door (if available), but this event will likely sell out. Proceeds benefit Samavesha (501c3) as well as these healing sound artists.
Then the next day, on Saturday 9/12 from 2-5pm, we’re starting up our monthly community singing event at our beloved SpringFall rehearsal studio:
Folks want to sing! You say to us. So, on the second Saturday afternoon of each month, we’re going to hold a space where you can join us to sing, improvise, learn, collaborate; to tenderly take your voice out of its wrapping and let it stretch, gradually and beautifully, into its full expression.
This Saturday is a Healing Sound Temple with Shay Nichols, Green Anne Huse, and Briony Greenhill. We’ll help you tune into your own resonance, exploring first how sound affects your own body, and how you can use sound to nurture yourself.
Then we’ll turn it on each other in a deep, delicious exploration of sound healing. We’ve been practicing sound healing together for several years, and Shay has been studying and teaching this form with major teachers across the United States for over a decade. It’s completely yummy, deeply delicious, nourishing and rejuvenating.
Suggested contribution $15-$30. More details at http://www.theelementsmusic.org/event/saturday-sing-15-9-12/
Future dates are Saturday 10/10 & 11/7
Then the following weekend, on Sunday September 20th at 3pm, we’ll be leading improvised collaborative songs at this year’s Art In Nature Festival (at Fern Dell, the halfway point of the festival trail).
The festival itself goes all day (11am-6pm), and free shuttle service to the beautiful site is provided from the Merritt College parking lot every 10-15 minutes starting at 10:30.
There will be hundreds of artists of every kind mixed throughout this family-friendly and FREE festival. Members of The Elements have been a part of this unique event since the very beginning, and are happy to be invited to return again this year.
Lastly, we will also be doing some more recording and some private sound healings later this Autumn.
We’re putting the band back to together. We’re on a mission from goddess…
