During this pandemic lockdown, there are lots of musicians everywhere who can’t play with each other. As a musician myself, and a technology-minded one, I kept hearing from friends all over the world who were trying to figure out ways it could still work.
Unfortunately, due to the latency of the internet, it really doesn’t. All those videos where people look like they’re playing live together are edited — not live.
But the next best thing is to learn to play by yourself better. The easiest/hardest way to do that is with a live-looping pedal. Many musicians have one, they just don’t know how to use it. I’ve been live looping for nearly 20 years, so I’m fixing that! :)
Yesterday was my first group live looping class on Lessonface (a platform I’ve been teaching on since they first started up) was yesterday, and it went great. Here’s a testimonial so you don’t just think it’s me saying this:
My next group live looping class is coming up NEXT TUESDAY at 2pm EDT | 11am PDT | 6pm GMT, and we’ll be covering the 5 button presses you need to know to get started looping it up all by yourself! Please sign up here or go spread the word.
And if you have any loopy questions, please comment below and I’ll circle back to you ;)
