It’s nice to think that if you can see what’s coming, then you can navigate it better. It’s a pleasing thought that if you just knew more or anticipated future needs you’d be able to serve them profitably.
Big. Fat. Lie!
It is. I present myself as evidence for just how wrong and misguided this line of reasoning is.
Who anticipated the agentic web? Me. I’ve been literally building it since the end of 2025. Made the very first (and I still think best) webscanner for agents.
Who saw that AI collaboration would be important? Me. I’ve been writing about it for 5 years now, and launched a startup to serve the market-to-be in 2025 too. How many enterprise customers today? Still none. Why? Because no one wants to hear the truth about how good they’re not at AI.
Who created a means of AI working together with other AIs in the most token efficient and collaborative manner possible? Again, me. Harnessie is here. No one seems to care.
Who built the answer to the question that multiple industries and entire sectors of the economy are asking about? Me. Answers seem strangely unpopular in these “but nothing works!” conversations. I’ve built the answers, they work alright.
Who shares the simple little things that make it easier to work with AI? Me, since 2020. Who shares the concepts that turn AI fluency into AI capability. Guess! And ask me how that went.
Who has been promoting via LinkedIn, Substack, Github, DevTo, HackerNews, Discord groups, Slack communities, and personal conversations week after week for the better part five years now? Yeah, this is why I can say it’s all a big fat lie.
Because you can do everything right, and have it all go wrong. You can share 80% of what you make freely and still have no traction across the 20% that’s paid or the rest of the 100% either.
You can predict with uncanny accuracy what’s going to happen, and even when, and not be able to influence the outcome that you can see coming a mile away. It doesn’t help. It’s frustrating, plain and simple.
I’ve been famous enough that people know my name the world over. I’ve been active enough, and cutting edge enough, that I keep 4-6 months ahead of the bleeding edge. None of it helps.
