Applying AI in Learning & Development

I’m just back from a trip to Washington DC to attend Josh Cavalier’s ATD Certificate Program “Applying AI in Learning & Development” from his great book of the same name. Debbie Richards and I will be delivering these 3-day workshops starting in 2026 on Josh’s behalf.

This is an excellent program, and I feel privileged to be part of it. One of the things I love about it is what a subtle but persuasive tool this is for what L&D should have been doing all along: Performance Consulting. This is really all about the Performance Consulting workflow, and how to supercharge that for business benefit. Also, this is the kind of work that I believe will stand the test of time far better than I was thinking going in. This isn’t just tool-agnostic, it’s value-centric, and music to my ears! I love that Josh wrote this, so I can just point to his words rather than having to struggle through my own.

I can’t say enough good things about this book for any L&D Professional, and I’m very excited to help bring it to anyone who is interested via this ATD certificate program. I don’t know which sessions I’ll be facilitating yet, but this will be posted on the TD.org site once the specific dates are booked. Hope to see you there!
