Call it Training

“Training” still gets treated like a bad word in L&D far too often. “Skills” get more attention then they do definition. “Learning” gets all the emphasis.

But why?

It takes some skill to get strong at most anything, sure. But generally not all that much. What it really takes is work. Over and over. With feedback.

But we don’t call that process “Learning” do we? And no, we don’t call it “Upskilling” either.

We call it “Training” And for good reason. It’s the right word. It signifies strength.

And it doesn’t matter how strong we are or aren’t when we start. Because with the right Training practice, we can always become stronger!
