Temporarily Pre-Broken

Impermanence is more than just a philosophy or a belief. It is hard fact. A fact that the world around us reeling from right now.

There is no thing and no process that exists now that will exist forever. Change is constant, but given enough time nothing else is.

The pandemic at hand will take months for us to recover from. The economic impacts will take years.

Why? Because “the market” was only temporarily pre-broken. It only works when it can grow, and when we believe it can grow. Exponential growth is by definition unsustainable.

Knowing this, we can make some new choices. Accepting what is, we can design something else.

The good news is that people are now less attached to the old things that weren’t really working that well for us anyway. The better news is that we can use this to invent something even better that works for more of us more often going forward.
