_This is my Now page and here’s what’s up for me these days as of October 2nd, 2024. For my current Now page, go here.

  1. Business Blast! = Top priority for this month is getting Snap Synapse ready to scale. I’ve never given my own business the startup mentality, as somehow I skipped that stage 20 years ago. So I’m clarifying our message and making the most of our products and service offerings, doubling down on what works and eliminating all that does not.
  2. Advising a startup = Though I was considering a deeper level of involvement previously, I’ve decided now is not the time to join in the topsy-turvy ride of ramping up a new SaaS software startup in the pay transparency space. Instead, I’ll keep to the lighter touch of helping the founder stay on track with his fantastic business idea, and throw my energy into my own business (as above).
  3. Attending Permissionless III = While I speak at plenty of L&D and HR conferences, I’ve never been to a blockchain conference before. I’m looking forward to meeting real people in real life and getting a better sense of what’s real these days in the world of crypto. It’s an area that I’m passionate in.
  4. Planning for the next 75 years = As part of my goal to live vibrantly to age 123, I’ve got some creative due diligence to do here. This month I’m specifically looking at how to fund this endeavor, and where in the world to be based out of. The world that’s been looks very different than the world to come.
  5. Getting back to music = One of the things I learned in our recent trip back to the SF Bay Area is just how much I miss making music. For most of my life I worked very, very hard to get very, very good at it…but then with the pandemic it all stopped. I got the chance to sing with people again for the first time since 2/29/2020 recently, and now I’ll be doing some more of that more regularly. Plus I have an opportunity to study taiko drumming again, locally. I’m excited to get drumming and singing again! No longer to tour the world like in the Beforetimes, but just because I love it so.

Thanks for checking in. Want to let me know what you’re up to? Got suggestions on what I might want to tackle in the future? Let me know here.
