Now Archive: January 2025
_This is my Now page and here’s what’s up for me these days as of January 1st, 2025. For my current Now page, go here.
- Essentialism90 = I’m working with a small group of friends from the GoGoDone community on Greg McKeown’s The Essentialism Planner for the next 90 days. While I’m more philosophically aligned with folks like Leo Babauta or James Clear, I’ve found that doing anything like this with community is much more powerful than doing anything on my own. I’m simply less likely to get distracted over the next couple months when I’m being accountable for others. I’m refining and refocusing, and I’m proud that the rest below already reflects this.
- Health Doubledown = Denise and I are healthier now than we’ve been for a long time…and we’re not stopping here! Instead, we’re both doubling-down on our health from a longevity perspective. The trick for me is not overdoing it and causing injury. It’s starting to really feel good to be stronger and lighter and more flexible again.
- Changing roles & hours = I’ve been primarily contracting as a Project Manager and eLearning Technology Consultant for The National 4-H Council for the last 2 years. I’m now in the process of redefining my role to provide for an expanded scope.
- Organizing & curating events locally = Now that our local Taiko group and Capoeira collective are both gaining steam and providing me places to play drums & berimbau & sing, I’m feeling called to bring some of my other skills to our Central Utah community and see what happens. This month I’ll be playing handpan for a guided meditation, leading Circlesong and trying some TaKeTiNa out here. Because I can’t help myself (and because it does actually align with my identified Essentialism essentials), I made a flyer and simple website to pull all these collective goings on together. Then started creating the programming & promotions for a local wellness center where I’ll be leading some of these events. Too ambitious? Probably. But worth a try!
- I usually list my top 5 things here. But in the spirit of less, only 4 this time ;)
Thanks for checking in. Want to let me know what you’re up to? Got suggestions on what I might want to tackle in the future? Let me know here.
